Thomas Leonard Steves, 77, of Edneyville, passed away peacefully at his home, Tuesday, July 15, 2008.
He was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, graduated from Spaulding High School Class of 1949, worked for the Public Service of New Hampshire for 39 years and was also a Licensed Master Electrician.
He had a great love of horses and was involved for many years with Horse Racing. He was an avid boater who felt most comfortable at sea.
He is survived by his loving wife and companion of 28 years, Louise Forbes Steves; three daughters, Nancy-Jo Higgins and husband Terry of Lebanon, Maine, Cynthia Vachon and husband Joe Stanley Jr. of Hendersonville and Melany Seckendorf of Derry, NH; three sisters, Sidney "Sid" Boardman of York, Maine, Patricia Elliott of Center Sandwich, N.H. and Sally Davis of North Conway, N.H.; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Vachon-Lyda, Jessica Gosselin, Sara Cantrell, Emily Higgins, Krysta Seckendorf, Kara Seckendorf and Kaleigh Seckendorf; a great-grandaughter, Elizabeth Gosselin and a great-grandson, Lucas Cantrell.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Rochester, N.H.
In his memory, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 120 Executive Park, Building One, Asheville, N.C. 28801.
