Rosario J. "Sarge" Perry, 80, of Flat Rock, went to be with the Lord, Monday, June 30, 2008. He was the son of the late Alexander J. and Bernadette Jarry Perry. He was the husband of the late Vivian E. Perry who passed away in May. He was preceded in death by a son, Earl "Joe" Case, two sisters, Josephine and Bernice, and a brother Alex.
He served in the Navy for four years during WWII, and then with the Air Force for twenty years serving as a military firefighter. He then worked for General Electric where he retired after seventeen years. He never met a stranger and he will long be remembered for his sense of humor.
He is survived by two daughters, Wanda Cooke and her husband Larry of Maryland and Carol Mullinax and her husband Dean of Flat Rock; five grandsons, Brandon, Derek and Troy Cooke, Jeffrey Corriher and Grant Mullinax; two granddaughters, Veronica Holley and Yvette Hensley; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 2 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Hunnicutt officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Henderson County Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
