Fred Alan Paris, 80, of Flat Rock, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Pardee Hospital.
A lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was the son of the late Robert and Birdell Rhodes Paris. He was predeceased in death by a son, Charles Paris; four brothers, Hugh and his wife JoAnn, Grady, Clarence and Donald Paris; a brother-in-law, J.D. Gordon and a sister in law Helen Paris.
He was a deacon at Upward Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, papaw and friend to all. He will be greatly missed but will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Snyder Paris of Flat Rock; a son, Freddy Paris of the home; three daughters, Cyndi Corthell and husband Allan of Mills River, Dawn McCoppin and husband Patrick of Hendersonville and Destiny Price and husband James of Hendersonville; nine grandchildren, Charlie Paris, Brittani Paris, Sarah McCoppin, Patrick McCoppin, Darrin Stepp, Taylor Stepp, Abigail Price, Amy Corthell and Robert Corthell; three brothers, Nathan, Ray and wife Dorothy, Walter and wife Wanda all of Hendersonville; five sisters, Melba Gordon of Saluda, Rita Justus and husband Bud of Hendersonville, Irene Roper and husband R.L. of Hendersonville, Evelyne Norwood and husband Earl of Hendersonville and Iris Pack and husband Clyde of Mill Spring; three sister-in-laws, Bonnie Paris and Darlene Paris of Hendersonville, and Teanette Phate of Saluda; and a number of adoring nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 2:30 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Paul Chandler and Rev. Dan Blackwell officiating. The family will gather at his residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Upward Baptist Church, PO Box 728, Mountain Home, NC 28758, in his honor.
