Jesse Orville Osteen of Hendersonville, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the Laurels of Hendersonville.
He was a native of Henderson County, the son of the late Melton Alonzo and Grace Gambrell Osteen. He was a member of the Spartanburg Chess Club, an avid coin collector and worked for Walkers Hardware for over 20 years.
He is survived by a sister, Jean Osteen Orr of Salem, SC; two nephews, Paul Orr of Salem, SC and Perrin Orr of Hendersonville; three nieces, Julee Reagles of Hendersonville, Jill Hightower of Seneca, SC and Joelle Orr of Hendersonville; and ten great-nieces and great-nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 11:00 am at Crab Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Daniel Fyfe officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
