R. Mark Kanoy
R. Mark Kanoy, 52, of Horse Shoe, NC passed away January 12, 2010 at Memorial Mission Hospital after a brief illness.
Mark, a native of Thomasville, NC had been a resident of Horse Shoe for the past ten years. He was a Certified Hearing Specialist. He worked as a hearing dispenser for Beltone Hearing Co. With offices in Hendersonville and Asheville.
He had a degree in Zoology from NC State University. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and caring for his animals on his rural property.
Mark is survived by his wife Patricia of the home, his daughter Jessica and husband Brendon of Winston Salem, his mother and stepfather, Peggy and Charles Kiser of Weaverville, father, Bob and wife Mary of Thomasville, sister, Cindy Moore and children, Heather and Ryan of Charlotte, first cousin and "special sister" Julie and husband Ernie of Raleigh, uncle Red Ernest Galloway and wife Joanie of High Point.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10 AM at Grace Lutheran Church.
