Clee Raymond Jackson
Clee Raymond Jackson, 93, of Etowah, NC went to be with the Lord Saturday, September 19, 2009.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County. He was preceded in death by his parents, James T. Jackson and Stella Moore Jackson, a son, Steve Jackson, two sisters, Tilda Heatherly and Mavis Wall and four brothers, Merritt Jackson, Ray Jackson, Atlas Jackson and Bruce Jackson.
He retired from the Henderson County D.O.T., was a part time farmer and gardener and attended Maple Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Ora Lee Warren Jackson; one son, Grover Jackson and wife Maxie of Etowah; two daughters, Ruby Shearin and husband Jim of Rocky Mt., NC and Evelyn Carter and husband Tim of Mills River; one sister, Mamille Ledbetter; five grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and several great -great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Maple Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Elliott and Rev. Charles Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Chapel In the Pines of Jackson Funeral Service.
