    Annie Price Grissom, age 96, of McKinney Road in the Etowah community passed away November 20, 2009 at her home. She was born in Lownsville, SC to Robert Ross Price Sr. and Susie Benson Price. She was a Registered Nurse having graduated Spartanburg General Hospital Class of 1934. She retired in 1976 and her last duty station was head nurse in the baby nursery for 20 years at Pardee Hospital where she specialized in premature baby care. She was a member of Etowah Presbyterian Church, a member of Daughters of American Revolution, Homemakers Association, and she enjoyed the outdoors.

    Survivors include: husband, J. Neal Grissom of the home, two sons, J. Neal Grissom Jr., Lt. Colonel Retired Army and wife Trudy of Pace, FL, and David P. Grissom and wife Gail of Mills River, NC, two brothers, Robert Ross Price Jr. of Kernersville, NC, and Robert Raymond Price of Sanderson, FL, three grandchildren, Dana Leigh Grissom of Pace, FL, Laura L. Veasey of Nebo, NC, and April D. Springston of Wenawahatchee, Washington State an two great grandchildren, Juliet Loraine Veasey, and Annelise Rose Veasey.

    She was preceded in death by: brothers, John Julius Price and Nick Price, sister, Elizabeth Miller Price.

    The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 24, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Chapel In The Pines at Jackson Funeral Home on Hwy 25. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 2:00 PM in Etowah Presbyterian Church with Pastor Ike Kennerly officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with the Etowah-Horseshoe Volunteer Fire Department Members serving as Pallbearers.
