Jack Dingeman
Jack Dingeman, 84, of Flat Rock, NC died Sunday, November 15, 2009.
He was the son of the late Karl William and Inez Shaffnit Dingeman and was born and reared in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
He graduated from Western Michigan University after serving two years in the Naval Air Corp. He then was employed by the Great A&P Tea Company for 38 years and was transferred from Grand Rapids to Detroit, MI; Chicago, Ill; and New York City where he commuted from Wyckoff, NJ. He retired to Flat Rock, NC in 1987, became an elder of Pinecrest ARP Church and served on the Bonclarken Conference Board of Trustees. He was an avid photographer and delighted in taking a beat up piece of antique furniture and restoring it to it’s pristine original condition.
Jack is survived by his wife, Phylis Dixon Dingeman; two sons, Drake Dingeman of Springfield, Ohio and Eric Dingeman of Clifton Park, NY; One sister, Doris Bader of Grand Rapids, MI; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at the Pinecrest Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Charles B. Evans and Rev. Andy Ward officiating.
