Jackson Funeral Service - Betty Edith Edney Lyda

Betty Edney Lyda, 64, of Hendersonville, NC, now cancer and pain free, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 14, 2009 at her home.

<= She was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County and the daughter of the late Fred and Edith Hill Edney.

She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, loved traveling, word puzzles and her chickens.

She will miss her friends at church and is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Lewis Lyda, her son, Barry Lyda and wife Missy of Williamston, SC; her daughter, Angie Craft and husband James of Pelzer, SC; two brothers, Wade Edney and wife Sara and Donald Edney and wife Janet all of Fruitland; two sisters, Lilly Edney of Fruitland and Patricia Westbrook and husband Tim of Advance, NC; five grandchildren, Brandon, Ben, Austin, Maryedith and Luke and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the First Church of The Nazarene with Rev. Sherman Waters, Rev. Sadie Gentry and Rev. Carroll Moffitt officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm Saturday at the church and at other times will be at the home.
