Jimmy Higgins, of Woodruff, SC, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at his home. Born in Burnsville, NC, he was the son of the late Vance A. Gilbert and Mafria Higgins Gilbert.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie S. Higgins; three sons, Reggie Higgins, James Higgins of Orange County, CA and Paul Higgins of Woodruff, SC; two daughters, Heather Higgins of the home and Tosha Smith and husband Mark of Campobello, SC; and three grandchildren, Justin, Kalin and Kenley Smith of Campobello, SC.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 2PM in the Chapel in the Pines of Jackson Funeral Service with the Rev. Jason Fowler officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 15, 2008 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
