Georgia Margaret Laughter Guice, 86, of Flat Rock, NC passed away Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Universal Health Care in Fletcher.
She was lifelong resident of Henderson County the daughter of the late Ellis and Janie Edwards Laughter and was preceded in death by her husband, James Grady Guice, two brothers, Wiley and Ralph Laughter and two sisters, Bessie Parris and Mary Jo Kelley.
She was a member of Upward Baptist Church and had worked for Pardee Hospital in the Dietary Kitchen.
She is survived by five daughters, Vonda Fair of Hendersonville, Linda Smallwood of Athens, GA, Barbie Ebbett of Wortham, TX, Mary Smith of Pickens, SC and Polly Higgins of Tryon, NC: four sisters, Jessie Newman of Balfour, NC, Pauline Laughter of Hendersonville, Myrtle Stamey of Las Vegas, Nevada and Lois Case of Saluda, NC; one brother, Fred Laughter of Balfour; sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the East Flat Rock First Baptist Church with Rev. Rudy Smith and Rev. Allen Sherwood officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
