Jon Cahill Connelly, 48, of Hendersonville went into the arms of his father on Monday December 01, 2008.
He was raised in Brandon Fla, where he attended Nativity Catholic School. He was a 1978 graduate of Edneyville High School. He received his masters degree in architecture from UNC - Charlotte and lived and worked in NYC, Montana, Santa Fe New Mexico, as well as Asheville, NC.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Connelly and is survived by his father John C. Connelly of Hendersonville. He is survived also by his siblings; Katherine Hearn of Boston, MA; Michelene C. Rhodes of Hendersonville, NC and Marc J. Connelly of Spartanburg, SC; as well as 8 nephews and 4 nieces : JB Rhodes, Carson Rhodes, Michelene Hearn, Rachel Hearn, Michael Hearn, Thomas Connelly, Caitlin Connelly, Maureen Connelly, Sean Connelly, Michael Connelly, Christopher Connelly, and Liam Connelly.
The family would like to thank the many people who cared for Jon through his life long condition of Type I diabetes and its complications: Mission Hospital and particularly Dr. Ellen Boyd, Sharon Roberts, and Dr. Rardin. Dr. Robinson and Buncombe County staff were wonderful to him as well. We would also like to thank the thoughtful and gentle staff at the Brian Center in Hendersonville who cared for Jon in the final year of his life.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 12th on the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe at Immaculate Conception Church in Hendersonville.
